The smallest of our dumpsters is great for handling cleanouts and small renovation projects like a bathroom remodel. At 12 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 4 feet height, it won’t take up too much space in a driveway, but still is large enough to handle a good amount of material.

Our next size, the 20-yard container, comes in at 22-feet long, 4 feet high, and still 8 feet wide. It’s suitable for kitchen remodels, shed cleanouts, and yard cleanup projects.

The most common container you’ll see on a jobsite, the 30-yard container is the all-round best bet for construction projects, home builds, commercial remodels, or just large cleanouts. It measures out at 22 feet long, 6 feet high and the familiar 8 feet wide.

If you’re dealing with a hoarder situation, a large demolition project, or just a whole lot of trash, then it may be time to bring out the 40-yard container. While not feasible to fit in most residential locations, this behemoth can be handy when you’ve got a lot of material to dispose of. At 8 feet high, 22 feet long and 8 feet wide, this is the largest of our containers.
Overloading a dumpster is always a concern, especially if you’re doing a heavy material like bricks or shingles. However, even for lighter debris, how you load it also makes a big difference in how much can be safely placed into a dumpster. Beyond not going above the rim of the dumpster, when loading material be also sure to evenly distribute the weight inside the container. The more equal the weight is placed inside the dumpster, the easier it is for the truck to pick the container up when you call us for a removal.
Renting a dumpster doesn’t come without responsibility. There are a few rules always to remember with a roll-off box.
Let the Dumpster Bros. help you get your next home project started! If you have a garage cleanout, remodel or yard cleanup job on the horizon, we’re ready to help you with a container for debris disposal. From tree debris, sheetrock, tile, siding, or just trash material, our dumpsters can handle it. For your next residential project, give us a call!
There are always exceptions to rules, but in general it is safe to place a dumpster on a concrete driveway. If you’re loading especially heavy material like shingles or bricks, then the threat of a cracked or damaged driveway does increase. A useful trick to reduce the chance of damage is to place plywood planks down on the driveway before the dumpster is placed, so it has a buffer between its weight and the concrete.
There isn’t much our containers can’t handle, but even they have a few restrictions to watch out for. Some of the most common of these objectionable items are appliances like refrigerators, washers, dryers and hot water heaters. Mattresses are also unable to be loaded into the container because of their springs. And if you have any chemicals, tires, or bulk electronics, then don’t dispose of those in the dumpster either!
Even without a pound of debris inside them, our dumpsters weigh 2 to 3 tons. Safe placement is key for a roll-off container, and because they “roll-off” the truck, they also need vertical clearance as well—beware of hanging power lines and tree limbs when requesting a location as the dumpster drop spot. The safest material to place a dumpster is on gravel, asphalt, concrete or packed dirt. There is always the chance a heavy steel container can cause ruts in dirt, or cracks in concrete, so be aware of the risk when renting a container.
A little known bit of the Dumpster Bros. code is always work in comfort! A portable toilet is an essential on a jobsite, and when your project is over and it’s time to celebrate, it’s needed for events and parties, too. But there are a few things to keep in mind when renting a portable. First is location—the unit needs to be set in an area where the portable toilet truck’s hose can reach it for any needed cleanings. Also to consider is how many units you need for a jobsite or event. The standard ratio for a busy commercial project is ten workers per unit, if they are all working 40-hours a week at the site.
Portable toilets always receive regular service so they remain spic and span. Our standard service schedule is once a week, but if that’s not keeping up with your crew, give us a call to discuss the possibility of more units or cleanings. Generally, if units are becoming dirty too quickly, it’s better to have additional cleanings than more units, since portable toilets always find a way to get dirty, no matter how many you may have on a site. For recommendations on how many units you may need and if you’d need weekly, bi-weekly or tri-weekly cleanings, give us a call!
At Dumpster Bros. we take our mission seriously—to rid the world of trash one dumpster at a time. If you’re looking to join that movement by doing a cleanup job, remodel or building project, then let us help you with a dumpster or portable toilet. With each load of trash we dispose, we’re bringing the world closer to being free from the tyranny of unwanted debris.
